Folks bought one of the lidl systems a few months ago and i picked up a seperate tuner box from an irish online retailer along with a quad lmb. Anyway finally got around to installing it all today. Using the silvercrest box that came with the set i have a decent signal and quality for nearly all the station (pointing at 28.2), but when u try using the ferguson box i bought online, all i get is the no (or bad) signal message.... this is trying both boxes on same cable connected to the dish.

    any ideas...

each box needs its own individual feed from the LNB.

its not possible to split the cable

(unless you use a multiswitch.. but thats a whole other story)

no two cables running from a quad lmb, nothing split, to two rooms (a & b), now since room a was closest to the sat dish and the person on the roof i did all the testing there. As i said before using the lidl box i can get all the channels and it has a signal strenght of over 80%, whereas the ferguson af 3100 box i bought just says no signal when connected to the same cable.

swap the boxes around.. that will tell u if the fault is with the box or not

i presume that the ferguson box is tuned in correctly.,

i can only guess that either the ferguson or the quad is stuffed

    Try scanning on the Ferguson.
If that doesnt produce anything, time to refer to your warranty.
Any electrical equipment can have a fault.
Manufacturing faults will often show up early in the life of the unit.

Also be careful to ensure it is unplugged before connecting the coax and lnb. A spark there or even at the power input has been known to knock out receivers.

the scanning was producing nothing, as the signal strenght was always about 10%, I gave it one last shot last night and while screwing in the co-ax i noticed the input piece was moving also and could go from tight to loose, and while tightning it the signal strength increased - then i was able to pick up the stations. so it was still working this morning so i doubt i'll have any need to remove it again so hopefully should be fine
