A friend of mine is doing a V important interview on Friday and I would like to give them a token to wish them good luck and let them know I am thinking of them...

Any ideas (apart from a card)?

Is your friend male or female? I'm presuming female......so how about some small ornament/teddy or something from the body shop?

A plant or a bunch of flowers and a card would be very acceptable imo. But a card by itself would show them you're thinking of them. You could give them a small gift (flowers / plant / bottle of wine) after the interview whether they get it or not to say well done to them.

If a friend is religious I offer prayers and thoughtful texts.

    Quartz TSCQ.jpg

    or Amethyst cluster-amethyst01.jpg

    Can help focus the mind.

i was gonna suggest a small bracelet or something, but The Yellow Brick Road, a shop on the quays (in dublin), does both at the same time! they do some beautiful bracelets and you can buy stones in lump form as well.

There's a shop in Georges Arcade that sells crystals. I'm sure there are loads of others but thats all I can think of at the moment. Basically anywhere that reeks of incense when you walk past :)

Oh yeah of course. NASA ran tests on all kinds of good luck tokens and found they do indeed help improve your chances by 5-10% depending on how positive you like to be.

Wy would NASA run tests? Are they from outer space?Out of curiouity. How are they suppose to focus your mind?

I don't know. Maybe accept one as a gift from someone and come back and tell us?

There's also a shop on Parliment street on the right hand side of the road going towards the liffey, beside Spar. It's called 'House of Astrology' and it does nice stones and bracelets.

You could always arrange to meet up for a drink or tea after the interview and have a bar of their favourite chocolate ready to give them.

    +1

Seriously is it just me or is giving a bracelet way OTT for someone doing an interview? I'd be highly embarrassed if someone did that and would be confused if someone gave me a rock, quartz or otherwise. Maybe that's just me

I think the quartz or amythest thing would be really nice. I'd really appreciate something like that - a small token I could hide in my pocket.

Some sodalite might be nice either. It's supposed to focus the mind, lead to logic and enhance self-esteem and it apparently releases stresses, nervousness, angers and fears. It's also supposed to be good for promoting the ability to work as part of a team - that can't be bad for an interview situation. Actually, I could do with about a ton of that myself.

I'm just going with what worked on me when i was looking for a job last year. One of my friends used to make a point of at least meeting up to get the same train, ice-cream cones in hand after the interviews I had.

Something nice and simple to let your friend know you care about how she got on and how she's feeling, without making too much of a fuss.

Well the interview is in England and thats why I like the idea of a small crystal or something for the trip. He is quite spiritual and think he would appreciate a small piece of one of the crystals to have with him... Will have a look in the shops and see.

    Thanks all.

The shop in the georges st arcade is Auld pine.

house of astrology 9 Parliament Street, Temple Bar,Dublin 2, Ireland.

Divine Guidance - Angels & Crystals shop on Capel St.

Personally I would suggest citrine for a job interview as it is associated self confidence and shedding old patterns - out with the old and in with the new ect.

and as for those banging on about science, did you read the title of the thread ? I would gladly like to hear what your scientific good luck charm is.

A carefully timed text, so they'll get it while on the way to the interview, would be something that i would like to get myself. If someone remembers that i have an interview/appointment/whatever at 10am, and sends me a nice text at 9.40am it makes me feel special.

I tend to double check the time on my watch against my phone when on the way to things like interviews, so a 'good luck' text would be noticed and appreciated. Also, you can add a line at the end - 'now, check this phone is on silent so it doesn't ring during the interview!'.
