It a real pity that the chain stores do not recognise the need for larger clothes sizes for men...

I have been reduced to tears when trying to buy clothes for my boyfriend..

Without spending an absolute fortune (ie over 100 euro) on a shirt we just cannot find clothes to fit him.

Do the chain stores in this country even realise that there is demand for these larger sizes?(XL+/size 40 +)

Someone shouldn't have to go online and buy from companies mainly based in the UK and US to purchase their sized clothes..

Does anyone else feel the frustration i feel about this topic or am i just looking in all the wrong places?.. btw we live in the south of the country!...

It's not always about the weight, my bf is 6'3 tall and broad shouldered, big muscles on arms and thighs and even if he lost a couple of pounds around the waist (he should!) there is no way he could shop in chain stores.

M&S does bigger sizes (sometimes on special order), single pieces can be hunted in Dunnes. There is a big&tall shop in Goatstown but it's more on the pricey side.

He has a healthies diet then i do!!!!(smoothies/fruit/exercise etc)..Its just that he is 6'4 and has like the previous poster mentioned very broad shoulders...

Big build can sometimes be genetic.. his brother had surgery after years of trying diets/exercising and the only reason he got the surgery is b/cos the doc's tried everything and after years of trying they concluded prob was genetic...

Dunnes down here is impossible lately very few 19" shirts... Nearest M&S is about 3 hr drive away but it would be worth it.. and as for the shop in goatstown we are so far away from there.. would like to actually see sclothes before i buy.. are their clothes trendy and stylish like a 27 year old guy would want to wear..

Some to the large sized stuff is terribly styled!.. i know we shouldn't be fussy but he is!!!

there is a shop in Thomas St in dublin 2 or dublin 9 its the old Switzers building it is owned by Keith Duffy's dad and they only do 2xl plus great shop for tall people and big people and he has the same stuff as the guy in goatstown but half the price it is well worth as visit and its a huge shop unlike goatstown

Tesco do tops up to XXXL,my dad picked up a few t shirts there and he's a pretty big guy. it's great for t shirts and basic stuff.

M&S too, and Debenhams. Also there's a shop on Thomas street (where frawley's used to be) that make clothes specifically for bigger guys.

There are tons of places, you've just got to look outside the more "trendy" highstreet stores, and maybe make the trip up to Dublin every once in a while.

 I'm sure that Switzers would love to hear they were in Thomas St. You are thinking of Frawleys, which could be found behind the vans selling 48 packs of toilet roll and 20kg boxes of Daz!

The store is called "Plus and Minors" but I don't think they have a website.
