So they are going ahead with it on Freesat according to The Sunday Business Post.

It won't have any advertisments. Now why cann't RTÉ International broadcast into Ireland. :)

12 hours a day of programming from RTÉ and TG4. They do provide more programming then that surely they could go for 24 hours.

It probably won't be on Sky EPG, they'll not like to pay EPG placements for two platforms.

Anyway, there's always the super-bad Other Channels option...

The 38,000 that someone mentioned sounded like the Freesat EPG charge, and comment may have related to Sky EPG, not different satellites as such.

So, no, given outlandish Sky EPG charges, I can't see them on it.

Should we change Thread Title to RTE-UK. That's what the service is. The "International" is hogwash.

Let face it all national TV comes from England in that country rule by England :)

I think they are looking for someone's head but they're either in the BCC, ITV, C4 or Sky.

If its on Freesat, then it will be broadcasting into Ireland. Freesat is pretty much simply a brand name, a specification for DVB-S recievers, and an EPG (at best). It broadcasts no programmes. Any channels available on it in the UK will be available in Ireland on a generic DVB-S reciever.

Sorry I was being sarcastic. I was trying pointing out how RTE show adds for their home market yet have no plans to advertise around the world (England being the world, don't you know).
