[Admin-DeV] User ID Intercepted

My user ID was used yesterday by someone else. The last time I posted as 'Kerfuffle' was the the 15th July - post count at that stage was 15. The ID was used yesterday to post messages in the Poker and Rants sections and also to start a new thread in Travel on the loss of a passport. The person posting appears to be an 18 year old living at home. I have no idea how this happened. No one else has access to my PC (though I did use an internet cafe earlier in the week). I received some pop-up messages in last few days referring to a security cert and saying that the domain name has changed and that maybe that site could be intercepted. But I didn't really take it seriously and just bye-passed it. How would the site be intercepted? I have now changed the passport, don't know if this is sufficient. Can the messages posted yesterday be removed from my account?

Sure. Make sure you change your password, and any passwords to sites you were using that day.

The site should not be giving you that warning when you go to it. Sounds like some kind of Malware trojan or something. Get a good virus/trojan/malware detector for your machine and for our part we'll look into this.

    DeV.

Thanks for the advice, will def look into getting a dector for Malware/viruses etc for the machine. Changed the password last night and there are no more new threads so that's good.
