Good Hair Dye

    Ok my situation is that I have fairly dark hair, not anything close to black though! For the past few years I have been going to the haridresser to get a tint into my hair to give it shine and also to cover a couple of grey hairs. Also I have been getting a couple of highlights to lift it a little.

    Now my base colour is bad, the grey is coming through and there is no shine to it. Can anyone recommend a good shop dye I can buy?? I dont want anything too harsh and I would like to get a good natural colour, not too dark.

    Also is it ok to dye over highlights or will it turn out a disaster? I am not considering a permanent colour...

    My advice is what you don't want to hear - go to the hairdresser! if your worried about a disaster due to the highlights and the fact your hair has had a lot of colour. Have you ever thought about getting the colour stripped out - if its in bad condition? You could talk to the hairdresser about it... A bit pricey tho!

    If your gonna buy one, I'd go for the Garnier Nutrisse. I use it to cover gray for my mam sometimes, she has some very strong gray and it covers very well. It leave a lovely shine and softness also. Best of luck, hope you have no disasters!:)
