I have a general wonderingment more than anything.....

I received an infraction from the 'Ladies Lounge', reason being? ''Inappropriate Language''...

    Post in question: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=56603187#post56603187

Now, firstly, it says nothing in the charter regarding innapropriate language.
Secondly, i assume the innapropriate language is referring to the work cock? If this is innapropriate, why isn't it blocked out by the boards master server person down in the basement there...

Ya see, **** is blocked, but cock isn't.. see? cock cock cock...

So, is this infraction justified? My post was obviously meant to be tongue in cheek, like most posts on boards.ie.

Are we making up reasons to infract people now?

    Like i say, general wonderingment.

Cock isn't allowed in The Ladies Lounge.

From wandering in and out of the ladies lounge it does seem like infractions are handed out for nothing, just because a certain post doesn't bode well.

    Those women! Fickle creatures.

Well in this post you said f*** so meh you got an infraction and deserved it even if it was in reference to the cock post. Big deal. It's not like you can't go to the US anymore because of your infraction record.

Maybe i misinterperet what a troll is meant to be, as i don't see how the post is anything more than a joke tbh, on par with hundreds of posts posted on a daily basis on this site.

And like ntlbell said, that wasn't the reason for the infraction...

I think there's a few moderator's that need to read up on the actuall meaning of the word "troll" it's getting thrown around constantly now and half the people using it don't understand the word.

The infraction was for "inappropriate language" if i remember and that post was just that, inappropriate.

So what? He was infracted and deserved to be infracted. It's not going to get overturned due to a technicality like a conviction would be if the paperwork was filled out incorrectly.

Well the so what is if you're going to infract someone that explain why so the user doesn't end up in feedback wondering why?

common sense i would of thought

If the infraction had of stated ''inappropriate post'' then i wouldn't be posting here. But that's not what it said, it referred to language.

nope... I really couldn't give a toss about the infraction. But the reasoning behind it just doesn't seem plausible.

An on thread warning would have been much more rational imho.

    And please watch the language

I managed to decipher the ancient mystical symbols that TLL charter is written in and found that they discourage bad language. His use of "cock" was gratuitous and then he went on to say "f***".

He got an infraction. No big deal.

I don't see how using the word cock once is overstepping the boundaries to deserve an infraction? If this is the case then i assume everyone who swears on TLL gets an infraction every time? Also, if cock is inappropriate then why is it allowed in the first place?

    Yeah, "these days".

Your "sticking your nose in" seems to be the latest trendy term for trolling, a passtime you excel at in feedback.

Well you actually said cock twice.
Also, if cock is inappropriate then why is it allowed in the first place?

Context for one thing. Also cock has other more innocent meanings. And finally it's not the admins' responsibility to block out all the possibly offensive terms out there.

No, an infraction is not a ban, it is a slap on the wrist. And OP, stop being so pedantic, this is the internet.

Or if you like i can have it reversed and reinfract you with the correct wording?

Do you have any idea how many threads in feedback i've posted in?

    three tops.

You're commenting on me commenting on something that has nothing to do with me when it has nothing to do with you?

    Why bother?
