Hi. So heading to Paris on Monday and wondering if anyone has any advice on Metro tickets or day- passes to get. Flying to CDG and plan on getting the rossy bus to Opera area. Then I want to get from opera station to Gallieni Station on Monday afternoon, Tuesday want to get to Momarte and then wednesday want to get to eiffel tower area. Thursday back from Galieni to Opera to connect to the Rossy bus to CDG airport.
grateful if anyone has any advice / suggestions on tickets etc. cheers, mark

apart from getting from the airport, once you're in paris, you've got 2 options, either a day travelcard which starts at around 5 euros 60 per day or single tickets which you can buy individually for 1.60 (i think) or a "carnet", which is 10 tickets and costs roughly 12 euros . these tickets can be used on any public transport

    That's three options - isn't it?

    got nothing better to do???:D

in my mind, the options were singles or daily travelcard, but the fact is you can get singles one by one or in bulk. meh, we're both right!;)

To be honest, just get a Carnet of 10 tickets and try to walk as much as you can. You miss so much if you take the Metro everywhere.

    Just get th Carnet.

Do you have to stay in Gallieni? It's 30 minutes from Opera and not actually in Paris.

you could also get the Parisa Viste. It comes in 1, 3, and 7 day tickets. It have seveeral zones and can cost up to €90+. However it will bring you from/ to the airport and as far as Versailles.

Depends what you want to see really. You will miss loads walking but sometimes it is handy enough.

We went for 7 days so well worth it for that. And like saruman says good to have the assurance, no hanging around at kiosks waiting for tickets. It is also valid for Disneyland.

Also just a heads up, some of the stations are huge and have travelators (right word) just make sure to keep on the right and side if you are not walking on them!! Parisians tend to get heated up over something as simple that!!

Viste is what i used myself last time. It might have cost more than individual tickets but i liked having the assurance that i could go pretty much anywhere... and i did. I believe it was valid for Disneyland too.

Much too late for this now but a taxi from CDG to yout hotel will set you back €35 which is a little more expensive than the bus + metro tickets but the bus route will take you 1.5 hours while the taxi is about 20 minutes.

Bus from CDG? Why not just take the train all the way in? I believe my paris viste for 3 days was about €35. I got it at the train station at CDG and never paid anything else for transport be it bus, metro, train etc.

Up to €38.5 now but still worth it if you don't want the hassle of metro tickets.

Normally a return to the airport will be €15. In 3 days if you take only 4 metro trips per day and use a carnet then it'll be €30 (€15 + €15) making the Paris Visite card more expensive. But if you plan on seeing Eurodisney or Versailles (both in other zones) then always get the Visite card.
