i am quite successful but often struggle with extreme self depreciation and seld hatred

i often feel crap after a day at work and hate myself.

part of me knows this is ridiculous.

but i often have self hating thoughts, anger and a desire to hurt myself

does anyone ever have these thoughts.

How long has this been going on for? How about times when you're not at work but still doing something such as a task, is there still self hatred at those times?

I guess the thoughts about wanting to hurt yourself might show it's quite strong and maybe you need to talk to someone to learn some coping techniques.

    This sounds like depression.

I would strongly urge you to get yourself to your GP.

    Seriously.

Also, remember that just cos you think a thought doesn't mean it's true. Sometimes we think thoughts just cos we've thought them a lot, and the groove in our heads is created and it's a loop.

    But see a GP

It's not uncommon to be cheesed off at yourself, but hating yourself is a lot stronger. I'd suggest perhaps seeing your GP for a referral to a professional. Even talking to someone might help you clear your head of these negative thoughts.

Low-Self Esteem or Depression (they are often intertwined) See your GP , You could also look into NLP(Neuro lingustic programming) which deals with negative thought cycles and how to break them.

Your GP will recommed some if you ask.
