i lived there for 5 years, head to the golf tavern on Bruntsfield Links (about a 15 walk from Princes Street).

Nice pub on the edge of the city's main public park. Lots of golf memorabilia on the walls. Loads of big screens and comfy couches.

Now that sounds like a good place to watch the open!

It's a great pub. Used to be my local. If you get bored of the golf or if it puts you in the mood for a swing, the downstairs bar rents out clubs and you can nip outside and play the 36 hole pitch and putt course. Its free to use.

Imagine a very hilly links style p&p course. It's great. It has some claim to being the oldest course in the world or something.

And later you could try the Frankeinstein pub:

If I remember rightly, the toilets are not easy to find !!
