IMO Take it handy - your not going to loose any fitness over the next few days. If calves are stiff swimming might be a good option or some light spinning out on the bike. Usually leave 3 days of doing nothing before my sprints...

Then again I'm a reative beginner so might not be the best advice!!

Did my first Tri there last weekend.

For the last week I trained lightly up till two days before the event.

Actually I just used the last week from Hal Higdons plan.

It was 30 min cycle and 30 min run on Mon, 30 min swim and 30 min run on Tues and a 30 min run on Weds. Thurs and Fri were rest days and even was on the Saturday. All training days on that week were at an easy tempo.

Anyway, enjoy the event and good luck.

Its a sprint distance race, no nutritional changes are required. In fact changing your diet could potentially ruin your race. Eat normal foods in normal quantities.

Don't rest from Tuesday to the race, its too long of a break. Short sharp training the Monday Tuesday and Wednesday before the race. Take Thursday off and something very very short the Friday before the race.

Go to bed very early the week and a half leading up to the race.

OK tunney, no major deviation on diet so.

given the fact i feel very tired today and legs are kinda aching how about this:

    2morr - 40 min spin class
saturday - open water 750M swim in after noon
    5K run in evening
    sunday - rest
monday - 40 min spin class
tuesday - fast 750 swim in pool
    wednesday - 5k run
    thursday - rest
    friday - light 3K jog
