Well all the helpers (and some instructors) in my yard are doing pony games on Friday and we all have to think up games. So I'm asking you guys to help me. We've got all the main ones like bending poles, chasing, releighs etc.
Just want some more unusual ones.

    Thanks,
    Gav

my three favourite games that we play sometimes(i'm in my twenties, but young at heart!) are

walk trot canter- you walk up the line, tort back down and canter to the finish, if your horse is in the wrong gait you must return to the start and begion again

stepping stones- you ride up the jumping blocks placed on the ground, dismount go from block to block()depending on how many you have) mount again round the top marker and canter/gallop to the start line

sack race- ride up to the top marker dismount and get into your sack, hop back while leading your horse/pony

i love mounted games, always good craic, if you just want to unwind with a few mates, although at my age, a few cans of beer always get thrown into the mix,

for those of you old enough to drink there is the "galloping can" where you open a can and kick your horse on and try and chug the can while cantering/galloping from one end of the arena to the other, the winner is whoever drank their can the fastest(or even finished it) but to discern who drank the fastest you drop the can once finished drinking!:D:D

hope you enjopy your games gav,

and a note to everyonee, drink responsibly when around horse, or probably best not to drink at all!:D

A spoon and a potato (or an egg if available at will!) and ride around at various paces without dropping the potato...

Of course, there is the usual command game where the 1st to apply the command given gets a point.

@ Skink ... I had never heard of the sack race ... I'm sure there plenty of fun to be had there ! :D
