Have you seen the new uggs?

I was in Office there earlier checking out the last of the sale (got a cute pair of black heels, but that's another thread...) and the new Uggs caught my eye. Not the regular uggs not, these are a new style "cardy"

    http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=w&categoryID=283&productID=5819&model=Classic+Cardy

I think they're really cute, though I realise they mightn't be everybody's cup of tea. I don't really like the regular UGG boots, and don't like the stereotype they're associated with, that said I wouldn't not buy a pair of shoes just because of the brand- that's just petty. I was talking to a sales assistant who was wearing them in Office and she said they were really warm and comfortable, I'm thinking of agetting a pair maybe in September in time for the Winter.

I also just noticed on the official Ugg site there the prices are $140 (US) yet in office they were €160!!! I couldn't justify spending that much on those boots so I'll probably be buying online, it's shocking how they're trying to rip us off!

are they really new here? i saw them last year in Toronto. Not many people wear them, most people stick with the regular uggs for colder weather, the cardy ones are mush more prone to damage and water etc, so i think thats why they're not worn as much.

$100-$140 would be what they'd normally be in Canada, but cheaper sometimes because they have been out for at least a year there.

Yeah there was a big sign saying "new Uggs" in office...typical Ireland, we get everything last! Yeah they're so expensive that I wouldn't wear them out in the rain, just on cold days...though I suppose you're fooked if there's a surprise shower!

If you buy from the ugg aus site you will more than likely have to pay duty on them as they use ups to deliver them :(

i got interested after reading this and checked a canadian "buy and sell" site, pair of new ones for $70, thats about 45euro, dunno how much postage would cost.

They will get wrecked if they get wet

There was a good few people wearing them in New York when I was there in January, I thought they were awful at the time, but they'e kinda grown on me a bit. Still don't think I'd buy them though.

They've been out for over a year, never liked 'em myself actually. I love the regular UGGs and I ain't really bothered by the stereotype that goes with it, I love 'em coz they are so so comfy :)

Office had big "new Uggs" signs up, but apparently they've been out in the rest of the world for a while. Not made for Irish weather it seems :(

I got a pair of ugg type boots in penneys for 6 euro. they look the same, v comfy and wear well.
ant understand someone paying 140 quid for the real deal if they look the same. thats 134 quid for a little tag saying 'ugg australia'

When I bought my Uggs (not the regular ones, nice black boots with buckles on the side!) in Fitzpatricks shoes last year they also had this style in stock. So they're definitely not new!! I think people forget that Ugg is a company and actually make a huge range of shoe styles not just the typical ugg boot that everyone talks about.

Do you like to walk on your footwear as opposed to in your footwear? As awful looking as Uggs are, and they really are awful looking the penneys ones are simply hideous and should never be worn by anyone- ever.

As someone who has worn both, there is no comparison between fake uggs and uggs. They are worth the money you pay.
