You'll need to give us a bit more information than that!

Do you have an internet connection? Is it broadband? What kind of modem/router do you have? Do you have a wireless network?

ok we need a lot more information

what is your home network setup like.

phone line go into a box (router) with arials on it (wireless router)?
how does it connect to your pc? via a lan cable?

if you have a wireless router you have two options: wired and wireless.

wired is easier as it's just plug in a network (LAN) cable and detect network settings in system on the ps3.

wireless is a little harder and i won't explain it in as we need more information on what your equipment is.

what have you attempted so far, get any error messages? if so post them here and google them to get a better understanding of the error message.

Your internet is presumably ADSL - so there's phone line coming from your wall socket into a box - which is an ADSL modem, and possibly a router too.

Depending on the modem/router, there will be a LAN cable (like a phone cable, but bigger) or a USB cable coming from it, which you normally plug into your PC to connect to the internet.

If you want to connect your PS3, you need to connect a LAN cable from the modem/router to the back of your PS3. After that, on the PS3 menu bar, go into Settings>Network Settings and follow the instructions.

Hopefully, your modem will have a 2 or more ports on it for LAN cables, so you can connect your PC and PS3 to it at the same time. If not, you'll need to buy a router - which acts as a switchboard for your house, essentially.

If your modem only has a USB cable coming from it, it wont work with your PS3.
