we will loose mark at the back as he has played with all season long.

Look we cant be as bad as against wexford, kingston up front will bring a new shape and edge to the forward line, if mj is back playin well and stays injury free we will take every free possible haha and hopefully barry brennan can come through and show his potential, a great player just injury has always been with him.

in the middle we could even drop barry back along side quigley and john o loughlin, it could be a very good game and fingers crossed we win...

    We can hope.

A good performance is vital rather than a crappy win imo.

    Is Higgins injured?

Glad to see Rooney out of the Centre-Half position, the man has the turning circle of an arctic, and I think he's better suited to Full-Back.

Sheehan being dropped is no big surprise either, he has been well below par this year. Hopefully MJ can remain fit and Parkinson gets more ball, as he was our biggest threat against Wexford.

I'm hoping more than expecting Laois to win this one.

Laois minor star Donie Kingston will make his senior championship debut for the O'Moore men on Saturday night against Longford at Pearse Park, throw-in 7pm.

For the first round All-Ireland qualifier, Laois manager Liam Kearns has made five changes to the team that lost to Wexford in the Leinster championship last month.

Kingston has featured for Laois at both minor and Under-21 levels this year, and was a part of the side that won the Leinster minor title in 2007.

The Barrowhouse attacker will start at left corner-forward on Saturday in place of Emo's Paul Lawlor, who was substituted during Laois' defeat to Wexford.

Meanwhile, the O'Moores have been handed a further boost with the news that towering midfielder Brendan Quigley is fit to start, having recovered from a work-related injury.

Quigley fell through a skylight in the lead-up to the Leinster quarter-final against Wicklow but has now made a full recovery and he will partner John O'Loughlin at midfield.

Quigley replaces Kevin Meaney at midfield, while there are two changes in defence with Cathal Ryan and Peter O'Leary starting at the expense of Mark Timmons and 2003 All Star Joe Higgins.

Along with Kingston being added to the Laois forwards, Barry Brennan also returns to the half-forward line in place of Billy Sheehan.

    LAOIS (SFC v Longford) - M Nolan; C Healy, D Rooney, C Ryan; P O'Leary, T Kelly, P McMahon; B Quigley, J O'Loughlin; R Munnelly, B Brennan, B McCormack; MJ Tierney, C Parkinson, D Kingston.

Higgins is injured, his hamstring! I think Laois has a curse on it for injuries this year.

It will be interesting to see how Kingston will do. I hope he has the pace. And I hope Quigley is fit enough.

I heard that Longford lost to Offaly last week in a challenge, 1-28 to 3-08. Laois also played Cavan in a challenge and beat them by 5 or 6 points.

Laois were poor very poor. They seem to have a lot of fairly big guys who are not up to much. They had a big guy in full forward, and i am afraid he is no Kieran Donnelly. Seriously I can not se them challanging anyone in the next round. Only player up to any thing was the number 6. I was at the game. Longford could have won it and they had only 2 decent players. Laois got a man sent off in the last minute of the game. had no baring on the outcome what so ever. (neutral observer)

the big guy up front was donie kingston and it was his first start all year and he scored 1-03 and set up -04 points so i think he done alright and hes only a chap which is good for the future, i think we could take down

Donie Kingston is a class player. Still only 18 id reckon or maybe only 17.
I remember when he was playing in Carlow, he starred in the minor final for his club Tinryland even though he was only 15 at the time.
They lost to Eire Og that day, but he scored a cracking goal and looked a player with great promise.

A huge man for 18. Lacks pace though. And should have done better with a goal chance. Scoring 1-3 I suppose you cant really argue with that.
