    Hi

From doing a search of previous threads, I know the question about what pubs to go to in Galway gets done to death, but here am I asking again..sorry, but there are few alternative methods of socialising.

Can you recommend suitable places for a mid 30's single male newcomer to Galway, to go for a pint or two and do some socialising.

Doesn't have to fit into any category of pub. It can be trendy, traditional, old, new, live music (once its not dance) or not. Once its friendly and not a regulars only type of place...you know those cliquish places where you get the 'we don't know you' look.

Also, it would be nice not to have to roar into another persons ear, in order to be heard over the music. This is not a great technique when trying to impress a member of the opposite sex.

I await the humorous replies, but a few genuine comments would be appreciated.

I hear ya buddy!, Word to the wise don't shout at her vage either because it doesn't work...

Pubs: The Quays, Kings Head, Bizaar, 903, The Cellar.

I tend to try and stay away from Buskers or The Front Door as often as possible because its a bit of a Yuppie crowd in there but everyones got different tastes.

Just because you don't shower doesn't mean he doesn't!

Except Bazaar, I like Bazaar. And Massimos. And Beerhaus isn't too bad. Roisin is usually ok too.

Hang on a second what was my point. Oh yeah it was as follows:

T-shirt pubs: Roisins, blue note, beerhaus, massimos
Shirt Pubs: Quays, Kings Head, Front Door, Buskers
Score a ramdomer pub: Living Room

Yes that was the general gist of my post. I thought I'd try and inject a bit of humour. Guess that was a FAIL.

Well that and pointing out the difference between the crusty side of town and the oompa loompa side of town!
