Anyone here got either of these rxr's? Or ever had any receiver from these "manufacturers"?

Both are HD receivers that I'm interested in (RF modulator being one reason, as I've current TM5400 fed thru to other TVs around the house along with Sky), but just not sure which is best. Most boards that discuss them aren't on these shores, of course.

I was leaning towards the Octagon, though I've read that sensitivity on it rather poor.

    Sensitivity is a misnomer.
it's not actually an issue, but handling of weak and strong signals at same time on IF coax. See the French RTE thread.

Make decision on all the other aspects and ignore "sensitivity".

Just recently released is the new box from Technomate:

    TM6900 HD Combo Super

Has RF modulator, which was lacking in the standard 6900, also has 2x USB ports (1 front and 1 rear), eSATA interface, blind scan and also an ethernet port.

    Pity it wasn't available sooner.

Im on the verge of buying one of these. What ive heard is all good, HD, Component output, Mpeg 4 comaptible (Both DVBS and DVBT, so should work with new Irish DTT). Also the USB PVR works unlike a lot of other boxes that advertise this. Updates/Patches easily available along with support.

Im trying to do a deal with a company for one of these along with a Diablo cam+Cas 3
