    Hi There

Hope someone can help with this ! I have a MacBook working off Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 but in the last day it will only power on when connected to the Main Power

The Battery is fully charged & was working fine up to yesterday, no physical damage etc & have tried to do th power reset as per apple.com but as soon as I take out the power supply it shuts down

    Any idea's ?

Have you tried taking the battery out and putting it back in again?

Is it keeping the proper time/date?

There is a recall programme on some some Macbooks; details here.

    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/

It should correct a software issue that relates to battery issues; if it doens't sort it out you may require a new battery; it will explain more on the page about the situation.

In the meantime, I would also suggest you download Coconut; it gives you a good indication as to the basic health of your battery and is an essential utility for any lap top user.
