Best Test Series

Just finished watching a superb doc on the 1956 AB V SA test series, a tour renowned for its... ahem "physicality"...if anyone gets to see it, watch for the footage from the second test..total savagery, if it happened in the modern game there'd be perhaps 7/8 straight reds. The AB's put a heavyweight boxer in the front row, who's job, according to a former Bok was to "stand there and punch", and we think the modern game is tough...

Got me thinking though..what, for you was the most memorable/enjoyable test series?

For me it has to be the SA/Lions 1997...(even if the third test was an anti-climax)

For me it's the 97 Lions test as well, mainly due the intensity & savagery of both squads.

Talking about old games i was watching Rugby Gold last night on TG4 Ireland vs England in 1988 England won 35 to 3 but my god it put a smile on my face. Was a perfect game of rugby with hardly any kicking except for some excellent box kicks by Bournhill (replacement SH cant remember his name exactly:o) Seeing some of Underwoods runs where brilliant to watch. The only bad thing about it was the old style brawl lineouts if there was lifting it would have been a flawless game.

Then i remembered the last two matches iv watched which envolved 80% aimless kicking.....how far we have come *sigh*:(

Those ESPN shows are just repeated all the time, so if you don't catch it first time around, it will be on again soon.
