Small Form/size Laptop for travel !

Ok, I am looking for a small sized Lappy for use while travelling.
I need to transfer photos to it and once in a while fire up photoshop to edit the odd photo.. and internt connection..

Size wise,, lets say not bigger than 14in screen..

Any ideas suggestions much appreciated !

id say for air travel being the main purpose, definitely smaller than 14" or you wont be able to open it up, what with everyone all leaned-back in their chairs while in-flight.

Once again theres the EEE PC which falls into the Sub-Notebook category or you can Go with one of Dell's 12" XPS models which seem fairly reasonable.

If photoshop is a major focus point for you though you might want to think of a tablet pc similar to this: http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/11/hp-pavilion-tx2500z-puma-based-tablet-pc-available-now/

The new dell vostro 1310 looks very nice im tempted to buy one

There's a 12" vostro as well. Might be better for travelling.

I saw a 12.1" Advent Laptop in PCWorld for under €600.

I would recommend sony SZ series. I am a happy owner of one of those. Very good laptops. 13" screen size. 5 hours battery life, if you are not doing anything huge. And less than 2kg weight

If you can find a vostro 1400 around, I would recommend getting one. I have one and it is a fantastic laptop. Very solid/durable design.

Sizewise it is very similar to the vostro 1310. (My gf has the 1310 so i have compared) The 1310 is about one inch shorter width wise than the 1400 but thats it. Same depth and length.

That means that the 1310 has a lot of wasted space around the screen. Better off getting the 14inch screen when you are not adding much size wise.

Also the 1440x900 14.1inch screen is yummy
