Should be later today or tomorrow, how did you find the race? Water was cold, and the delay at the start didn't help anything, heard they were trying to clear the queue at the toilets!!
Cycle was near enough same as last year. Run was much better improved, but marshells were saying 3 laps but it was only 2 from finish line, so that cause confusion with me. Didn't go as fast on the last lap because of this.

It was a good race but the organisation could have been alot better, waiting over 40 minutes at the start of registration, the timing chips had'nt arrived. 3 toilets for over 1500 people, the transition area caused alot of confusion, coming back in off the bike, one guy was telling people to remove their helmets while another guy at the end of the bike transition area was writing peoples numbers down and penalising them 2minutes for not wearing the helmets. They could have stuck a few signs in the transition area to avoid alot of confusion. I was a bit worried leaving the bike over night in the transition area as I asked one marshall would there be security over night and he replied "sure its a barracks, if anyone gets in they will be shot" I just laughed and walked away. To top it off the feck up with the results at the end.

What was the feck up with results?

I was a bit disappointed with the route marking all round, I thought the cycle route could have done with more frequent distance markers (although I only noticed it because my speedo wasn't working).

The laps of the run were also confusing, my mate ended up running clear past the entrance to the finish chute. The other weird/annoying thing was having to run around the corner to the left at the end, why couldn't we just finish under the big archway?

I agree also that the toilet situation was a bit ridiculous.

The results were supposed to be annouce at 2pm yesterday, so we turned up only to be told that they had a technical faulty with one of the timing mates and that the results would be annouced today on the web, so there was no prize ceremony for the winners.

Ah I see, I was on the road home by that stage, I hope it's a problem they can fix and we won't lose our times.

For a race with so many people it went off very smoothly. The run did seem a bit confusing but the amount of people asking about the number of laps was ridicilous, all the info was on the web for months beforehand and at the very least they could have asked before the race started.

Swim worked out alot nicer this year. The road for the cycling was very bumpy in patches and is something that I presume will be rectified for the euro championships in a few years.

The false start at the beginning of one of the ladies' waves was unfortunate. Not sure what happened but the girls that sprinted 200m and then were told they had to swim back up against the current to the start werent too happy :o

False starting is something that is happening more and more although penalties are never issued for it. There are always people at the front who refuse to get back behind the start line and then they are the ones who start swimming when the count down begins. The fact that it is the better, more experienced triathletes who are at it the most doesn't really help. If a couple of canoists came out with some rope and surrounded the offenders and disqualified them straight off it would certainly sort things out fairly quickly. Never gonna happen though

I was actually on the pontoon for the race that had the false start. What actually happened was that the announcer was counting down while one of the swimmers required urgent assistance so as he was counting down he wasn't aware there was a problem.

I suppose it was a bit unfair on the swimmers that had to come back but I suppose safety is paramount...

Little bit disappointed with my time. I can't blame the organisers for that though :P

The massive size of the transistion area is going to blamed for my poor times.

Sure why not? I'll blame it too, that and stepping on my mates bike at the dismount and trapping my toe in his spokes.
