Ebay clothes

What are people's experiences of buying "designer" clothes on Ebay? I have been buying a few bits and pieces online this weekend and have stumbled across some too good to be true bargains on Ebay. I haven't bought as even though they are advertised as New and Genuine I don't believe that they can be at some of the prices I have seen.
Am I being too sceptical or are there some cracking bargains on Ebay?

    I adore eBay :)

Sometimes I might try something on in the shop and watch out for it on eBay.

Also, with certain shops I know what size fits me perfectly so I have had some great bargains!

Just last week I got a Monsoon and a Coast dress both for about half price. They were perfectly packaged and in lovely condition. One was new with tags and the other was used, but hardly worn and it's gorgeous! :D

This is only my experience though and you still have to be careful about sellers and payments etc.

I really like Ebay myself - always buy my books and CDs off it.
I ended up buying an Armani watch for about 100e today; read all the feedback and saw the shops other items so I'm nearly certain it's the real deal.

Always check the feedback, positive rating and other items.

If they're selling 65 polo shirts just like the one you're bidding on, it's probably a knockoff.

I'm not bidding on any polo shirts. Was looking at some and came to that conclusion.

I am slighthy sceptical about stuff on ebay. Myself and my husband have both bought quite a bit of clothes from Ebay in the past and we have come to the conclusion that a lot of the 'to good to be true' bargains are actually seconds. I'm not saying that all the stuff is faulty or anything, you just need to be wary and as previous posters said, check the feedback.

I also notice a lot of stuff for sale that has been priced way down in the sales. I bought a dress in Oasis at the end of last summer for €7 and have lost count of the times I have seen it on Ebay, for slightly dearer than that (it was originally €79 so you could see why people would think they were getting a bargain.) I think a lot of ebay sellers just trawl the sale rails and bulk buy.

Also I once bought a Jane Norman top and when it arrived, it didn't look like Jane Norman quality, on closer inspection, it looks like the tag at the back of the neck as been sewn in, ie the top is cheap generic with a tag sewn on it.

There are some bargains out there, but I rarely buy off ebay anymore. The bargains i've got are outweighed by the times something has been a bad fit, poor quality (ie seconds) or just plain ugly in reality! I would be very careful about spending more than €20-30 on something, it isn't worth the risk IMO. Save your cash and hit TK Maxx instead!

I think ebay is particularly handy for occasions like weddings. You have a new outfit, and want to get a matching clutch bag or wrap, but don't want to spend a fortune or spend days trawling the shops for something you're going to wear once!

Very handy .... I got myself a (new) little gold clutch bag recently for 12 euro incl delivery.
