as the title suggests i haven't been to the gym in 5 days(sore muscles with cold)

i had been going 3 times a week for the last 3 months since i started membership, now the reason i started to go to the gym was to put on muscle mass, so i've been hitting 1 gram of protein for every pound of weight i am and now i am starting to put on mass but NOW i'm in bed sick, its really frustrating cos i just wanna hop on a bench or lat pulldown but am confined to my home here in galway and my muscles are aching:(

just wondering what ye guys have done in the past and how it effected ye psychilly i suppose, or how easy it was to hop back on the bench, lat pulldown etc. pushing the same weights as a week previous.

    cheers in advance lads;)

It's only a week. Don't worry about it.

Well your not gonna lose much, but when this happens with me or I just don't go to the gym for some reason, I just make up for it and go more often then I did.I haven't gone to the gym in around 4 days, so soon il make up for it and do around 5 in a week instead of my usual 3.

Maybe you should try this, it motivates me more because I know I have been slacking, and thats how my mindset works, dunno how yours is though.

Just relax, a week, two weeks will make no difference to anything. If anything you're body will appreciate the rest and be the better for it. A lot of people would take a full week off after a tough 4-6 week training cycle before starting another cycle.

Personally, I take a week, sometimes two, occasionally more, every couple of months or so. I find my body responds well to the rest and needs it. Everyone's different I suppose, but it's definitely not healthy to be fretting over missing a couple of gym sessions because you're sick. Take the opportunity to concentrate on other areas of your life.
