    My friend cant believe I'm a member,albeit a relative newbie.Says that its used by inadequate people,who take cheap shots at others to make themselves feel good.This kept me off the boards for the last while.What do ye think?

    There is that element to boards but there's that element on any forum. I think his opinion is one mostly held by people who think they know it all about something they don't actually use.

    I think it's a bit sad that you allow what other people think of you to dictate how and what you do.Why is what your friend thinks more important than what you think? Cant you make up your own mind about Boards?

    Well some guy in Australia sold his on ebay. Turned out it was worth a lot less than he thought so I wouldn't get too hung up on not having one.

    I can imagine sombody of 16 / 17 years of age saying that yes, but then some 16/17 year olds are more mature than others. Allowing for the fact that people can be mulitasking on net ie, google,msn.bebo ,shopping ,working etc in between posting on boards .

    As sombody said, irony and humor is your best tool on Boards.ie
