Lost & Found... what's the best/worst thing you've lost/found?

I'm sure some boardies have lost and found some very valuable or priceless items.
(by 'lost'... more misplaced or forgotton than lost hundreds on a bet)

Don't think I've ever lost anything of much value... lost wallet twice and got it returned by strangers both times!
I did lose a €200 gift voucher given to me as a present from a previous job too on my last day... got so rat-arsed in the pub that night it must have fallen out of my jacket pocket...

So, any stories where you lost a priceless family heirloom?
Did you find something of huge value? Did ya keep it or try and find the owner?

I know someone who found like 3,000 dollars and a gold card in a wallet, they contacted the owner i believe...

I've found IR£40 (spent) in Liffey Street pre Euro on BH weekend. I've also found an employee's pass to Dublin Airport (which I returned).

Lost: €300 (or stolen). 2 Mobiles phones.

Oh: I often find money in my washing machine/tumble dryer filter..€50 was the most 9in the tumble dryer) so that was a lost and found..altho I dont realise that I have lost it.

Found a banker's draft for 200,000euro in the Car Park in Temple Bar. The owner left it on top of the machine for paying. I contacted the owner and gave it back. Got 50e for the good deed. Although, alot of people think he should of gave me more considering the amount. I would like to think that if I lost something very valuable, it would be returned to me if possible.

Never really lost anything of value, maybe a couple of quid and a phone.

I have had no major finds but know of a few people heading off on holidays found €1500 - brought to the information desk but were informed the chances of finding the owners were unlikely so they kept it.

Lost my drivers licence last month in the airport after I went through security. So much hassle getting back out to the info desk and had to queue up again :rolleyes:

Found a couple of euros here and there but that's about it.

passing a cash machine one night and it was beeping like mad... 100euro (10X10)sticking out of it

found 60euro (3X20) under a stone on a deserted beach

found 50euro in a house i moved into (no other tenants):D

found dogs/lost children/wallets/diaries/jewellery/car keys/house keys all returned to owners or dropped into the nearest gardai station

and someone chucked a mobile phone into an open bathroom window of a house i was rentin, it had no sim or contact numbers stored on it, didnt work either that ended up in the bin

best thing i've found is 2 muse tickets put in my door by mistake.. go on worst thing i've lost? cant remember.. 2 guitar peddles once maybe

I've lost one shoe of a pair on two separate occassions, never got either of them back!

Lost my phone too, I'm still pretty sure it's in the back of my friends car but alas, she begs to differ.

Haven't found much, actually. How unfair is that?!
