Bike racks

    doing my 1st tri in kinsale on the 26th. me and a friend, both travelling in his car (a small fiesta). we have no bike rack though and really dont want to have to buy one coz up until now we have both been haemorrhaging euros on gear....

    does any one know if we can rent them? or would anyone be interested in loaning/renting one too us? (please!!)

    going from skerries to kinsale. i can get to pretty much any where in the dublin area to collect though.

    Ours is in Cork unfortunately, but you are welcome to it if you can figure out a way to get it up to Dublin.

    You shouldnt have a problem fitting two bikes in the fiesta. It depends what year it is but you should be able to fold the rear seats down to near flat. Whip off front and rear wheels and drop the seatpost down, place one on top of the other horizontally with a piece of cardboard and an old blanket in between them. Just lash the wheels in on top of another piece of cardboard. Bingo Bango no rack required.

    At the last Dublin Duathlon, a guy had his carbon bike on the rear seat of his....porsche 911. So, 2 bikes should fit no pb in a Fiesta.

    guess i should have mentioned but i dont think the girlfriends would be too pleased about having to share the back seat with two bikes ;)
