    Hi Guys ,
I know there is a thread for the 3-4 safes going on at the moment . but I have checked the dimensions and dont think they would fit the space I have set aside for the safe .
Im looking for a a good, Garda-friendly and reasonably affordable safe (2nd hand is ok ).

For the time been only 1 rifle and scope will (hopefully) be going in it but ideally would like a 2 if possible .

must be under 20 inches in wide ...

    Thanks
    Darr

Only thing I would offer is that you're best off avoiding shallow safes. I have a Warmflow three gun model and my target rifle is deep enough that it has to go in at an angle across the safe. Should be room for a shotgun afterwards, but it'll be tight enough. I sincerely doubt a scoped rifle would fit in conventionally, if my target rifle won't fit in without sights on. Just my thoughts.

    Thanks for the reply ,
Depth is fine and not really limited in that way , its only I want to place it side ways (in order to make it harder to jam open ) in a wardrobe and inorder to do that comfertably It could only 20inches wide ..
If I could get one to fit in there a JCB would be needed to remove the safe :) .

Also as this is (again hopefully) going to be my first rifle do I need an additional safe for ammo as Im a little unsure .
    Thanks

Yeah, I have mine set up the exact same, only the front panel is actually accessible, all others being sealed by other surfaces.

It depends what your local firearms officer or crime prevention officer wants from you to be honest, but it looks pretty good to have another safe for bolt and ammo.

Darr, The setting up is the dearest bit of shooting with Club, Gun, Storage all have to be paid within a few weeks of each other. But when your first guns needs a friend to hang around with in your safe (and it will need that sooner then you think) you wont need to spend all that money then!

Midlouth, its a Brattonsound, he paid 270 for it last year, he's looking for € 200 for it. He's living in Roscommon but travels, if your interested further let pm and I'll give you his contact details.

I think I'll leave it, can get a new Buffalo River safe for less than that and not as far away as Roscommon.

    Thanks for the offer though.
