Remove discolouration

Anyone know how to remove the purple discolourations in the following picture (one spot in top-centre and another middle-right):

    Untitled-Scanned-15.jpg

It's a slide which I have scanned, but I cannot get rid of the purple spots. The spots are caused by mildew on the slide itself, which I cleaned before scanning.

I have tried a number of things in Photoshop Elements 6, but cannot get it to look right. Any help appreciated (I have a ton more slides scanned with the same problem)

Try using a hue/saturation adjustment layer and paint back, and some healing maybe?

I'd use the clome stamp with the mode set to colour. Apply it to a new empty layer to make life easy.

+1 for that make a new layer lasso tool the parts and copy on seperate layers.Adjust these till they look correct and merger all.Mind if i have a go?:)

The beauty of the clone stamp in colour mode is that there is no adjustment needed. It simply changes the colour to that of the source pixels.
