If there's something on your mind it might be worth exploring with someone who is objective, non-judgmental and empathetic.

I started therapy in May after thinking about it for a few years, and I am glad that I did. You should give it a try. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to share my experiences with therapy.

If youre in the mindset of going and talking to someone, go surely. You can see how it fares out after a session or two and then decide whether or not its working out for you.

Depending on your situation would determine the type of therapist you could go to.

I have been thinking about going to see someone myself to try and shed some light on a crap situation I have found myself in.

Hope it all works out for you.

Yep,therapy is great,im just finishing up with mine now and ive been going for a couple of years, ended up bringing the boyfriend in with me too and we did 8months together also,it strengthend our relationship no end,and my relationship with myself has gone from strength to strength.

working on yourself gives you self awareness, confidence and independant thinking, you start to see your own reality and learn to handle your emotions head on. I cant recommend it more.

Dya know what? I think it's a great idea. Ive been goin for the past few months as I've been quite anxious... never very confident... a worrier... and I've improved a lot.

    Even just for a chat.
You can always just call samaritans.
I never liked the idea of that myself but it IS an option.

I like going to talk to someone. It's a really nice experience. It can be tough at the start... like "what am I doing... am I over reacting?" haha all sorts.
    But I'd recommend it.

If you've been thinking about going for a few years then ffs of course you should go. Maybe it will help. It probably won't. But you don't wanna still be wondering whether it will or not a few more years down the line.

    Hi Op

I am just about to finish two years of group therapy, and for me it has saved my life, not only that, I have been experiencing a happiness and contentment that I never thought possible. What I have also found is that even if the bad times come I have the skills and awareness to handle them, most of all I feel strong, empowered and safe within myself.

    "safe within myself"

One of the most important qualities to have, and i'm so envious as it's exactly what I wish to achieve.

Nice work McGinty, glad to hear it.

I would just add, if it doesn't work out with the first person, try someone else. It's like any company / job there's always lazy bums.

    Go and try it!

If you are a student in College/uni its free...

generaly therapists will nagotiate with you... altho some dont like to talk about it becouse it takes away from the whole theraputic side of things

I think the average is about €55-€80 and hour

I Think therapy with the right person can be a life altering experice .. im only 21 but im on my 3rd therapist and He has been the best thing to ever happen me...
