    Heya,

Anyone else think the start times for Athlone triathlon this Saturday are a tad early?? I know they're running elite events in the afternoon and are expecting a large field. I'm starting in the sprint tri at 09:12 in wave 2. I'll be travelling from Dublin that morning which means getting up around 6am, by the time the elite event is on (which i'd love to see) i'll probably be in my hotel having a siesta......

Any tips for eating at this hour in the morning for a 09:12 start, usually I go for porridge and natural honey

Get the porridge in before you leave at 6am and have a few energy bars on trip down, it will be well digested by the time you start you triathlon. Headin down the night before myself, but I'll be gettin up at 6am to get the porridge into me.

Better than last year when the last wave (the one I was in) was held up for over an hour cause of the swell in the river. Think we eventually got in after 6 in the evening. Earlier the better imo.

Not looking forward to the swim on Saturday, last year was a thoroughly depressing experience and the rain looks as bad this year.

It does say on the TriAthlone website that if the current is like last year that they have an all downstream swim they will switch too.

Given it is Thursday evening.. anyone know if that decision has been made yet, or at what point we will find out.. Saturday morning perhaps :D?
