Given contract of employment - 3 months in - I'm leaving in 2 months

    Hi all,

My boss just handed me my contract of employment. I started working here 3 months ago and it's a retroactive contract (aparently). The terms I'm working under haven't changed or anything, it's just in writing now.

Anyway. Herein lies the problem - I recently found out that I'm relocating at the end of August. I haven't told my boss yet because 2 months' notice is a bit excessive (planning on giving 4 weeks' notice) and I don't want him to start treating me differently if he knows I'm leaving (I'm a fantastic employee :D)

But should I sign the contract? As per its terms I'd still be in the 6 month probationary period so I'd still be able to terminate my contract with a week's notice.

Is it unethical for me to sign a 12 month contract (which I'm 3 months into already) while already knowing that I'm leaving in two months?

you would be signing a contract which includes the terms of your probationary period so I can't see any issues - someone else here may be able to valid this from a legal perspective.
