:DHave you're notice letter printed and signed, wait for a nice opportunity to mention it- i.e. 'what are your short/ long term plans', thank them for the experience and let them know that you are reluctant to leave but you really feel this is a good time to do this.

Tell them you will do whatever you can to make the transision as easy as possible, and will be happy to help with handover etc.

Then stick with it- work your notice, do your best right till day zero and walk out with a good reference and a clear conscience!

'Hopefully our paths may cross again' :-)

love that part - made me laugh!!! :-)

it sounds like something a bond villain might say before jumping into his escape pod....followed by a really deep, cackling, laughter!

as above it's not difficult - just be honest with them, work your notice and leave on good terms

    best of luck!

If you know your boss well or are otherwise on a casual footing with them, you say, "I have some bad news I'm afraid...". They will usually respond with, "Ah ****", or, "You're leaving, aren't you?"

If you don't really know your boss have the letter typed up, stick it in an envelope and say, "unfortunately I'm going to be leaving...".

Don't ffs use that letter, it is really badly worded and the grammar is appalling.

Good luck with the meeting btw, just be pleasant and promise to make the handover as seamless as possible. Keep in their good books so you can obtain a glowing reference from them before you leave.

was actually fairly suprised.. it was quite pleasent, they honestly seemed pleased for me but were disappointed that i was leaving.

They came across quite encouraging which was a relief and said if i ever needed a reference, personal or work related it would be no problem.

thanks again for the advice, worked a treat.
