Box of 12 Pro V Titleist "quality recycled" balls on sale for €13.99 in American Golf.
I presume these are lake balls, i've heard that balls lying in water too long can dramatically change the way they perform, has anyone used these..? Cos seeing as it's a nice saving compared to the normal price for new Pro V's might be worth an investment if even for trial purposes..?

only worth it for the practice bag. They scuff up really easy and the lick of paint they get dulls very quickly. They don't tend to travel either. I've tried them quite a few times and have finally decided you're better of with a new mid price ball instead, for durability and overall performance. If you're looking not to spend too much on balls, here's what I'd recommend

    Nike SuperSoft
    Srixon AD333
    Titleist NXT Tour

Afew people have mentioned the Titleist NXT Tour as an alternative- i must give them a go..!!

McGuirks do boxes of prov-1s which are very good. They're 30 euro. The box i picked up were really good. Around 3/4s i was able to use in competitions and the rest were great for practice rounds.

Much better than the JJb / american golf ones i found.

NXT Tour is a very good alternative. Re-finished balls are a bit iffy, as it hides the actual state of the ball, they could all have been grade-b balls given a lick of paint.

    Srixon AD333 - I use these too!!

Great golf balls - and they have a nice lil line on the side which I use for lining up putts - altought you wouldnt think it by the way I putt :p
