I recently bought a second hand 30d and have been using it for the last couple of weeks (upgraded from a Kodak bridge camera). Here are some of the better shots I got out of it - mostly in low light cos of the crappy summer weather! C & C appreciated:

Tried to get the warmth of the scene in this picture so I changed a few things in Lightroom (temp, brightness, yellow saturation, etc).

This was taken in a graveyard and I thought the life/death theme was shown well by the different coloured leaves here. Again some touching up done in Lightroom.

Not sure about the black and white here, but I thought it hid some of the high ISO noise (ISO 800 used in this dark church).

The sigma 70-300 I borrowed to take pictures at frisbee summer league wasn't great in the dim evening light. This is clearest I got: not a bad action shot...

Obligatory flowers shot taken by all new owners of a camera ;) Again Lightroom used to up the brightness and bring out the yellow a bit

C&C would be most welcome, as well as advice on what to take pictures of in dull weather.

Liking it so far. Feels solid and has some great features: much more than were on the old bridge camera. I now feel like going out specifically to take pictures, rather than just taking them on holiday, etc.

Using the tripod last night and one annoying thing is the 10 second timer (no 2 second timer that I could find). It means waiting ages for the camera to go off. Otherwise I'm delighted with the purchase and look forward to years of good use

Thx. AnimalRights. I'd like correct U a bit. I worked on whole pic at any time. I did the next corrections> Shadow-highlight, unsharp mask, and color balance.
