EPG on the RTE digital channels

    Why has the symbol EPG with a little green spot suddenly appeared on the bottom right hand corner of the screen on RTE1 and RTE2?

    When I press the green button, nothing happens. When I press the button marked EPG on the remote, I get the RTE EPG.

    When I press the RED button, I get a game. The YELLOW button does something strange and freezes the picture. The BLUE button does nothing.

    I have a Sony Bravia TV.

    I have a Sony 32W4000 TV and text is available from the DTT Trial. Must setup first though using the UK as your country, not Ireland. (Thanks for that advice maxg...;)). If you choose Ireland, no text. Here are some pics from it...

    That EPG indicator in the bottom right hand corner could be toned down a bit though!! Gets annoying after a while. Haven't had the DTT trial box plugged in for a while now. CAM from that now in the Sony. Is text available on it now all of a sudden then?

    No. Still no teletext with trial box. Why was it never enabled?

    The Humax trial box has no mheg engine builtin into the firmware.

    What would it need to update it? When you press the "OPT+" button on the remote, a subtitles menu appears, which can be turned on, but the teletext is greyed out, and can't be selected.

    There is only the standard teletext supported like from channels for central europe.
    I guess mheg was too expensive for a handfull boxes.

    That EPG symbol vanishes off the screen after 1 or 2 minutes.

    Normally the green button should switch off any mheg note at the TV picture immediately.

    Nope. Pressing green (on Sony remote) gives you this onscreen guide.

    That is not what happens on mine. When the green button is pressed, the picture freezes for a few seconds and hen blanks, then the station is retuned as if the programme button had been pressed. There must be a software/firmware upgrade needed.

    Any idea where I could get it?

    I have a KDL40S3000, bought in Jan this year.
