Im sure there is. Know any pubs around there with boards?

I know of one in particular that is looking at putting in 8 boards upstairs and a main board downstairs with a camera on the board.

I think they want to do it like soccer....have a premier league, division one and division two, according to your ability and every 4 weeks then have a cup whereby you can be drawn against anyone. It's an ambitious idea and the person behind it asked me for advice as to how popular it is. He seems to think Darts is getting popular like poker did...im not entirely convinced. (Although this guy played Adrian Lewis last week)

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. I would love to play in something like that. I wouldnt go quite as far as saying darts is getting poker but it is getting more and more popular. To be fair though darts has always been a popular game in pubs, any pub that has a dartboard in it is going to get guys in there playing all the time.

So yeah darts is getting more popular and I think an idea like that would definitely work. Pity your not doing it in Dublin! :)

Well the current PDC champion John Part's agent is from Tramore. Alan Keoghan is his name, he may be able to advice on how to go about setting up some sort of competition and also may be able to throw some weight behind it. The guy you were talking to last week that was playing Adrian Lewis, if its the same guy I am thinking off, he should have Alan's number.

Found contact details for Alan for you if you need them

Haven't played in any pubs in Waterford for a while. There used to be a tournament in the Bridge Hotel though.

Keep an eye on http://www.dartsinireland.com/ for the Tramore festivals, they have youth tournaments.

If anyone is having problems organising an event let me know and i might be able to help. Think the showboat still have tournaments every friday night, used to be full of county players but its a lot more beginner friendly these days. The mansion house have a board but don't think they do tournaments.

There's a darts competiition tonight (18th October 2008) in Deccies pup, Modelligo ( outside dungarvan.
It's the Martin conroy Memorial Shield.
This is the 4th year it's been running.
normally pubs from Villierstown, aglish, Ballymacaberry and Modelligo compete. all west waterford pubs.
Nothing too serious but they are always looking for new pubs to join.
There are cups for the winners and runners up. The winning pub keeps the Shield for the year. 100 euro prize for the highest check-out.
I know it's a bit late but i only searched for this today.
I'm not much of a serious player myself. I just throw out of respect as i'm Martin conroys brother, but there are a few very good throwers. It's always been a great night and a great session.

Darts every friday night in the lantern on yellow road mate. Not very busy but is a good laugh.
If your ever around and see a motorbike out the side of the place pop in and Ill give ya game for the laugh. Im brutal but as long as there's beer there I wont mind.
Few good players in there also.
They whipped the showboat when they came up a few months back.

iv been living in waterford for past 4 years...always get few throws in, paddy browns, norris's, jordans on the quay, showboat or kitty kearns...if ur lookin for practice on ur own, jordans is ideal..however if ur lookin for few games try either the showboat, norris's or paddy browns

    Ryans
    Jordans
    Showboat

There are many more pubs in waterford city that have boards, I just cant think of them at present. There is an estabhlished league in the city which anyone can play in. Just ask in any of the pubs listed above.

    Tramore Area

There is also an estabhlished league in tramore which anyone can play in once you live in tramore/fenor/dunhil area.
