Just wondering if anyone has headed to the UK recently for work.

Im a civil engineer (consulting) and due to slowdown with work etc i am giving serious thought to jumping ship from here in cork to somewhere in the UK. I am graduated 2 years now.

Anyways where would ppl recommend. Im thinking of edinburgh or london or perhaps manchester. Basically want to weigh all the pros and cons of each such as wages, rent costs, quality of life etc.

Is there much work over there for someone wit 2 years+ experience and a good degree. What would be best city for work and quality of life etc. Cant seem to persuade many friends to go so would be off on my own id say.

    What do ppl think?
    Thanks in advance.

Well they say London is busy for the 2012 olympics, but there are stories in the news of a property slump in London too so its hard to know.

I've no idea myself, would be interested to hear what someone else has to say to the op's question.
