    Hi guys

    Is there anyway to output an ipod video to a tv?

    that's a very good question.

    it's an 80GB I think 4th gen but I'd have to check

    it's not the most recent model.

    Standard 3.5mm jack to s-video with red/white audio does the trick. However sneeky Apple have remapped the wires, so either white or red carries the video signal (forget which one) and yellow carries one of the sound channels.

    I think you're a bit confused. S-Video is not what you need. An AV cable with 3.5mm end is what you need to connect the iPod to the TV.

    When connecting it to the TV, switch the yellow and red cable and it should work. I have done it with my 80GB iPod. It doesn't work with the Touch/Classic/Nano 3G/iPhone.

    No, you have to connect via the Dock connector.....that way Apple can force more money out of you by making you pay for overpriced accessories ;)

    no, you can watch your videos back on a tv/external monitor
