Nokia E51 as Modem

    Can you use as a modem to access the internet. I mean with a data add on from Vodafone can i use to connect to internet using my laptop.


    Just need to know before pruchase

    yup. e51 works fine as a modem.does heat up a bit when using HSDPA

    Does heat up a lot!

    Best option if you haven't done it before is to install the NOkia PC Suite .. hook up the e51 and following the prompts in the programs "connect to the internet".

    Just watch the data usage, can get out of control if you're not aware of how much data you're using on sites such as youtube etc - don't want a huge bill !

    i'm assuming the add on you're talking about is the 500mb for 10 euro add on. I don't think that will work if the phone is used as a modem. It's heavily proxied so large parts of the internet don't work anyway but i don't think it will work at all with that add on

    vodafone have an isp access point that's meant for this and has full internet access but it's 2c per kb

    ISP access point is 2euro per mb if i'm not mistaken.
