CS Recruitment Embargo?

    All the speculation is pointing to a civil service recruitment embargo to be announced mid week. If this is to be introduced does anyone know what happens to current panels? Are the panels frozen and then defrosted when conditions improve? Or, are all panels cleared to start again when the ban on recruitment is lifted? Also, what happens to current recruitment competitions? Are they shelved mid way through the process or do we just go through the motions and pretend there may be a job at the end of it?

    It might be a long shot but surely some people will be taken off panels during the freeze?

    I don't know if this means anything or not, but I collect the jobs from publicjobs.ie on a daily basis (for some of my websites, see my signature) and I've noticed the number of jobs on the site has been steadily decreasing for the past month.

    Could just be coincidence, I don't know.

    Where my mother works in the civil service there was a round of interviews recently, and just before any offers were made all the jobs were pulled. This was about 2 months ago.
