ok, so i've got a fat ass
not saying i will get lipo, but i am curious as to whether people would recommend it.

Has anyone had lipo on their ass/thigh region?
how much money would one be expected to pay?
are the results good??(i've heard the fat comes back???!!!)
    any recommended clinics?
    how painful is it?
    what's the recovery period?(honestly!!!!?)

and any other relevant advice that i might have never considered would be totally appreciated!

    thanks!

    jee Sherlock, dya think?

Why is the fat there in the first place? Think long and hard. Unless you change how it got there in the first place, then of course it's going to come back.

So, get off your ass, change your diet and get yourself down to the gym

There's a few different types of lipo you can get afaik, SmartLipo, Vaser and full Lipo. Smart Lipo has minimal results but is the easiest and is done when you're awake. Full Lipo is done under GE and is more expensive as it would have to be done in a hospital. It really depends on what your expectations are. The best candidates are slim, young people with an area of fat which won't budge, even with exercise. Obviously you will have a consultation with a doctor and he will decide whether you can get it or not. It's not to be used alone as a method of weight loss.

You wouldn't see the full results for a few months due to swelling. The fat shouldn't come back unless you really pig out. It's priced by area ie inner thighs, outer thighs, bum, hips, etc, so a few areas could be pricey. Really depends on where and how you get it done, but don't expect to pay less than 3k for one region.

No surgery is gonna be pain free but can't say how painful it is, but I presume it's not nice. No pain, no gain though!

i'm quite offended by your comment..
how dare you take such a sarcastic attitude..no1- as i said, i doubt i'd ever get it, i was just wondering these things and thought this was a place to seek advice.
no2- if i wanted to not exercise and just have lipo, then it's entirely my choice and who are you to judge me?

anyway, for your information, i eat healthily(with the odd treat), exercise regularly and vigorously(2-3 times a week), i am very slim in the waist, arms, everywhere other than my ass and thighs!(which aren't shockingly huge, but rather out of proportion to my upper half)
my mam is the same way, so i imagine it may have genetic connection. when i lose weight, i always lose it from my upper half(which doesn't need weight loss)

so "sherlock", next time, maybe think before making a blanket judgment?? and if you have no response to the questions i posted, then why get in my way of obtaining the information i actually wanted?

You should also be aware that liposuction can result in a fat embolism in your heart, lungs, brain, etc and can kill you. It also makes very little difference in the long term and if as you say, your mum is a similar shape it may well just be the shape you are and you won't really be able to change that in the long term.

From what you have said you eat well and exercise so overall are a healthy woman. It is normal natural to have a shape to your body, curves etc. We are all different sizes and shapes and so long as we are as healthy as we can be I say embrace your body, embrace your femininity and the shapes that comes in and feel great about yourself. You really shouldn't (IMHO) feel the need to subject yourself to what can be a dangerous procedure.:)

I have read that if you have cellulite, lipo can make it much worse!! If it's just your bum that worries you, buy a video from ebay or amazon of "Callanetics." The exercises on the video are the best for toning and lifting your whole body, it will improve your bum's appearance without needing to take such drastic measures!
