We officially started at 7:00p.m.(one hour later than expected- people had trouble finding the place!).

79 runners so far, although the buy-ins stay open for the first two levels.

€39,500 so far in the prize pool, looks like it should be a great weekend.

There will be no official blogging for this event but if anyone would like me to give updates on anyone they know in particular I'll do what I can!

Hey Jools. Pity you couldnt make it up. We'll definitely keep ppl informed..

So it's the dinner break now. Official count is 79 players, reg is closed. We have 5 players down so far after 2 hours play. Two 'local heroes' Cahill Sweeney and Gary Spencer are gone along with Daimon Fergus, Joe Jackson and Mark Walshe, unlucky lads....Have dinner on us :p

We have quite a few well known players from around the circuit so we will try and keep people informed as the night progresses.

Players still in and going strong include JP McCann, Willie Clynes and Nicky O D with the latter being among the chip leaders with a stack of 73,000.

    Joe

The artiste formerly known as JP poker is now up to a fish-frying 80,000 chips, and jsut doubled up with this hand.

Folded to JP who raises the button to 2,400, Small Blind calls,

    Flop QdXdXx

SB bets out 2800, JP min raises to 5600 SB calls.

    Turn is 8c

SB checks, JP bets 7500 SB calls

River 8s SB shoves and JP calls for all his chips putting his tournament life on the line...with QQ.
    SB had Ad8d.

JP is one of the chip leaders, Christine I'm sure will be very proud, if not a little shocked.

Hey choilteboy. Sorry for the late late reply, we are very busy up here. We had 50 players for our side event. Yup that's him. Im afraid to report that he busted out 3 tables out...

We are down to 19 players on 3 tables. We will be redrawing for seats when we are down to 18 players. Seating and chip counts will follow as soon as it happens...

Sickest rollercoaster of a tournament I've ever had. With 21 players left I get Ivan Donaghy all-in for a 90K pot with KK Vs 99. He rivers the 9, leaving me with just 6,500 and blinds 1000/2000/200.

With 12 players left I have 142K, twice as much as Ivan.

    Tournaments are so stoopid! :P

Just woke up. Mad night in the bar with bomber and ciaran.

    up down all day.

start day with 21k. build it up 37k get a double with Q's on Q high flop just before the break. 1st hand after the break river a flush to take me to 97k. Very next hand flop top set and lose a pot for 85k. sick

Nothing happens for nearly 2 hrs, aipf with 9's v K8o (could be K10o) K on the turn back down to 25k. The 3 hrs up and down from 25k to 80k, got lucky once in a battle of the blinds KJ v J10 when i push on a 10 high flop, K in the river.

Get down to last 2 tables, made a big fold to Nicky O'd in the very 1st hand i raise to 12k with AKs he ships for another 29k (i think), didn't want to take a race as i just built my stack up to over 80k... looked like mid pair, i think he said he had J's

Make a good call with 8's against AJ, ace on flop back down to 23k blinds 2000/4000/400 get it all in on the next orbit with A8s against Nicky's JJ no good.

Really enjoy the weekend, the lads put on a great show. Will be back....

    ......Scalps at 6pm
