Majority of male workers feel sexually harrassed by female colleagues

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/majority-of-male-workers-sexually-harassed-by-female-colleagues-1425237.html

    Anyone else read this story.
    Seems a bit unbelievable .

A lot of guys here might be thinking where the fcuk is all this harrassment going on and why isn't it happening to me.

But seriously is sexual aggressivity in women something to be absolutely admired.

And to what point is it admirable.
Female sexual confidence of course is admirable but sexual aggression/acting and dressing like strippers- is it only a matter of time before that becomes a feminist ideal (or is it already?).

Is it sexist to think agressiveness is more naturally a male trait though
(biologically at least) and that it's a bit incongruous to have the roles reversed.

And what fuels this revolution- is it mainly a media-driven thing.

Not really arguing either way tbh- just genuinely interested in what people (women especially i guess) think reasonable female sexual aggressivity is.

Edit: can't seem to get the link to work sorry.
Maybe someone else could find it.

Heard that on the radio the other day. It said something like 75% of males in the workplace have experienced sexual harrassment and of that number 80 something % are afraid to report it.
I have no doubt that it happens but to that extent- I dont think so. The DJ said it was probably an Irish survey and the respondents were probably taking the piss.
I work in a predominantly female environment but that day I was working with 3 guys and they all joked about it

I wish some female would get sexual with me in the workplace (as long as she's not a heifer).

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

If that is true I'm either incredibly ugly or working with lesbians.

Yeah make a joke out of it.

I know what it's like - for 75% of my working day I do nothing but try to fend off the perverted wimmin in my workplace. It's almost impossible to get anything done especially with my male boss who sexually harrasses me for the remaining 25% of my day. He says if I complain that he will sack me for not getting any work done so what's a guy to do?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Well, 8 out of the 8 guys I work with said they have been so that's 100% where I am!

The definition we used is that "if the roles had been reversed and it was a guy doing/saying it to a woman, and the woman complained, then it would have been defined as sexual harrasment". This was mainly along the lines of sexual jokes/innuendo, porn (women have no problem putting up pictures of topless men as screensavers/images on their computer), or "offensive" comments about the male gender.

Funny that if it were the other way around there'd be f*cking outrage. You'd have women chaining themselves to the rails at the Dail, women going on strike in work etc etc

I've certainly experienced colleagues displaying misandrist attitudes on a regular basis. If that qualifies as harrassment (like I'm sure many women would contend displays of misogneny does) then yes, I've been 'harrassed'.

Yeah anything to do against white males is seen as humourous.

You make a pass at a female it's harrasment, say a black guy isn't pulling his weight it's racism, chinese guy overlooked for a promotion racism again.

But anything directed against white males is just seen as a bit of a laugh.

I would imagine the same amount of 'Harassment' goes on in the workplace by both genders.

The reason it seems to be men doing most of the harassing is this.

A man is sexually harassing his female co-Worker if she doesn't fancy him.

Men on the other hand nearly always take the 'harassing' as a compliment no matter how ugly the woman is and regardless of whether he fancies her, so to him its not harassment.

The men who do claim harassment? They're the men who only ever get harassed by munters and finally reach breaking point and take it out on the poor munter by filing a complaint, "Whats wrong with me, why is it only ugly munters that harass me. Why can't the gorgeous brunette down the hall harass me?"

There's truth in both those statements ... not 100% of the time, but enough of the time for them to resonate ...

Not so sure about that bit, could happen I suppose but I think often when a man actually shouts "sexual harassment" there's probably some basis for it, as the usual reaction even from his male colleagues will seldom be supportive ... men are conditioned to think that it is somewhat wussy to complain about any kind of sexual attention from a woman, no matter how inappropriate. As a result, most men wouldn't rush to make such a claim, believing they had more to lose than to gain.

Sexual harassment is a matter of perspective really. It's just that perspective changes between people, sexes, races, roles and situations.

I remember once a manager in work kicked off a meeting with "I wonder if we can make you wear tight t-shirts everyday?" ,aimed at myself.

I didn't give a ****, it was complimentary as far as i was concerned. Another guy might not have liked that particular attention.

Personally, a bit of sexual harassment never hurt....helps to pass the day.
