    Hiya folks,

Sitting here in Tenerife on my hols, 32 deg, cold San Miguel in my hand and my laptop is playing up.

Its an IQON from Tesco and I THINK its approaching its first birthday. Sometimes the screen goes wonky, with vertical lines and nothing else. Tilting the screen can fix it and other times doesnt.

I have googled IQON and I know they went bang, but there was talk of an office for warranty repairs. I know my stat. rights with Tesco is 12 months and Iqon "gives" two years, but has anyone any experince of this fault and what may be the cause.
When I get home, I will check the receipt and hopefully I am within the one year warranty. If so, its tescos problem.

    Anyone any ideas on this!

    Thanks in advance.

    Jeff

Sounds like a loose connection to me. But if it were me i'd just go straight back to tesco and see what they'll do for you, they might give you a refund. I wouldn't want to chance it with a machine that's already giving trouble after 12 months. That's just my 2cents;)

I got the same machine there for the Parents. After 2 days it gave up the ghost (video card was ****ed)

My mum went to tesco, and They said that it was IQON's problem

I went down about 3 hours later, and Demanded they replace it, And pointed to the 30 day returns thing they had on the wall.

got the replacement. and 6 months Later the hard disc went.
needless to say, thank god they went bust. Shower of bastards with CRAP pc's.

I rang tesco and while I know the are responsible, I did follow the suggestion to let it be repaired. I faxed the receipt to the repair crowd with the date highlighted.(28/07/07) and they gave me a return number. It is being collected tomorrow.

    Heres hoping....

    Ok folks,

Got the laptop back today. The LCD was gone. I think that means the screen. I was hoping they didnt format the HD so booted it up straight away. Unfortunately, they had changed the password to log on so I couldnt get into it.

I rang the helpdesk again and they emailed the engineers. Two hours later, I got a call to say it should have defaulted to my password but didnt. They did notice, but didnt think to put a note on it to say the password was now "a".

A bit stupid, but am delighted to have it back repaired and working again.

    So all ends well.
