I live in Limerick and I am moving home shortly to an apartment where the only option for TV is Chorus cable. After years of enjoying Sky and especially Sky+ I would like to know how Chorus Digital compares.

Does it have the exact same channels? Does it have widescreen on all the entertainment, sports and movie channels as on Sky? Do any of the movie channels have 5.1 sound?

It doesn't have as many channels as Sky, but has most the worthwhile ones. I dunno if the listings are correct on the website, but look there anyway. Any channels that are widescreen on Sky are widescreen on Chorus (they're not all widescreen btw - look at Eurosport, the Discovery channels, all the music channels etc.). Dunno about sound on the movie channels - I don't have them. You can get a DVR now for €5 extra a month which isn't as good as Sky+ but still better and cheaper than any separate DVR.

    Cheers Zilog.

Also meant to ask how it looks on a large LCD tv? Im going to be buying a 37" LCD and wondered how it would look.

Off topic I know but do you have broadband with them also? If so how is the service?

I don't have broadband with them - you're better off asking about that in the broadband forum. I think the service varies in different areas though one would hope they're getting their act together under their new management.

I have a 32" LCD and it looks OK at any distance over 2m but any SD stuff is going to look crap close up on a big TV. Some less important channels like More4+1 look particularly blocky.
