    I've always been interested in computers and technology but a lot of the time I find it difficult to understand. For instance what makes a good graphics card or motherboard, general computer stuff.

    Does anyone know of an easy to understand book that kind of explains the basics of computers? I am planning on building a PC soon and I basically have to take other peoples word on what to buy. I'd actually like to know what I'm doing!

    So if you know of any good books, can you please let me know?

    Thanks.

    Consider looking at the CompTIA A+ books as a start. Search the IT Cert forum for more.

    pm me your email address , i have some great pdf stuff relating to the comptia a+ essentials course, some of it might be a little deep, but most of it is real good stuff, even more so if you have a keen interest in that area.

    Agreed.

    A+ Certification for Dummies is a great book. It is 9 books combined in 1 for someone intending to do A+. It is a great reference book and is layed out quite well.

    Also, there is loads of material online for any questions you might have. If you need any help in going in the right direction drop me a pm.

    There's a Haynes Manual also, do a google. Third edition or maybe fourth is current.

    But in my experience books go out of date too quickly. Use the forum instead would be my advice.

    Dive straight in and build your own PC. Best way to learn.
    If you stuck -> internet

    I probably have a rake of stuff I can send onto to you too.
