    Just wondering does anyone here upload to stock photo sites? Can money be made? What sites do you know of?

    There's loads of sites, from Getty to Alamy....

    I don't myself, I probably should, but tbh, I either shoot for a client, or for myself - I'm not sure about the whole stock thing. Though my opinion could change quite fast. I don't really have enough dedication to it though.

    Maybe. Maybe.

    Money can be made, but a lot of it is down to;

    a) having the right photos.

    b) having the right tags.

    c) having the right attitude.

    A lot of it comes down to being able to take good solid pictures of mundane things.

    In gerneral there is no room for any sort of artistic endeavour, i have a friend who shoots a lot of stuff for stock sites, he also works as a forensic photographer for the police.....makes sense really.

    He spends all his spare time taking shots of random household objects like cutlery.

    There is a lot of that kinda stuff alright. Generally photos with people have 100's of downloads where nature and locations only have < 50 downloads. Im going to upload at least a few every week, I'll update this thread with my progress (which might be nil).

    I've been on it for a while (only 3 photos up there though), but no-one's ever bought anything. There's no harm in it.
