Kate Moss Collection Topshop

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has bought anything from Kate Moss`s collection at Topshop and what you thought of it?

I thought it was great initially when it went on sale last summer. I bought a lovely floor length silk skirt and the long tuxedo dress, really thought the collection was intetesting but have not seen anyting decent since and a lot of the pieces feel cheap and tacky.

Would like to know what pieces you bought and what you thought.

I haven't bought any of her stuff, I thought it looked great in magazinies and the likes, but when I saw it in the flesh it isn't all that great. the pieces are nice enough but they just seem crazy overpriced for what they are, especially of you are buying them in the south. You are def just paying for her name.

Bought a black top on impulse the day her stuff launched last year..but returned it after common sense kicked it..it was ridiculously priced and wasnt that good fitting either..havent like much of her stuff but like some of the dresses,

I wouldn't usually be one to run in and buy an item of clothing because someone had put their name to it but I spotted a lovely figure hugging gold dress of hers a while back and bought it. it's amazing, and wasn't too expensive either. have only worn it once though as it's very dressy, not your average night out dress. Gorgeous button detail on the back and an amazing cut. but lots of her stuff is very plain and not at all original. Skinny jeans, vests and waistcoats all the way from what I could see. nothing new.

I have the long silk skirt from the 1st collection too and the black/floral velvet dress from the 2nd (I think). I like some of the items, particularly dresses and jackets but on the whole I find the majority of the t-shirts, jeans etc no better in design or quality than any of the rest of topshop's stuff.

While I love the two pieces I have, I didn't pay full price for either- I got the skirt (new) on ebay for £25 and the dress on sale for €22! I think the sizing is a bit odd as well- I actually started a thread here a few months ago looking for advice on what to wear with the skirt as it was far too long for me to wear flats with- and I'm not short! In the end I had it shortened slightly so all is well now, except I'm still reluctant to wear it since the material is so thin that I'm paranoid about standing on the end and ripping it.

I do have a browse through the collection whenever I'm in Topshop, but when I see how much of it is left unsold at sale time there's no way I would justify paying the original price. I prefer now to make a mental note of anything I like at the time and then keep an eye out for it in the sales or on ebay- the only exception to this would be if it was something utterly amazing or if I was looking for something for a special event.

Yes I have to agree, some of the skirts and dresses are really nice and original but everything else is pretty plain and tacky.

Did you buy the silk skirt in black or bronze?

I bought it in bronze which is pretty hard to find something to wear it with, i matched it up with a brown t-shirt and a black bolero, brown indian-esq belt with either black heels, or black knee high heeled boots, reckon it looks really glam with those. Rain permitting will be wearing it out Sat night.

Have not seen anything decent in the collection since and yes a lot is over priced.
