Looking to get a digital camera for my dad and was looking at the Casio EX-Z8SR. Was wondering if anybody had one and if they thought they were any good?? All he really needs is something he can stick in his pocket that's easy to use and gives decent pics, he has a digital camera already so he's used to using one. Open to any suggestions if people know other ones that are decent.

    Thanks

I have found that the Casio's are ok, however, last year I ordered a couple of the Z77's for people and 2 of them developed faults with the batteries. I would personally go with the likes of the Canon Ixus 75, or the lastest replacement of this model, it appears to be a better camera, the only thing with the 75 is that when you are putting it into the canon case, the slide switch is accidently placed into movie mode, so every time you have to check the switch you take it out of the case. But I still would recommend it.

I had a Casio. Took good photos, when it worked, but stopped working a couple of times, and I had to send it back for repairs.
So I'd suggest getting a good warranty or insurance for it, if you got one.

Cheers guys....I think I'll go for a Canon Ixus 75....seems to have gotten great reviews on Amazon and isn't a bad price either. Thanks for the help

had a casio ex-z750 a couple of years back and it was a fantastic camera. think that they haven't reached those heights since then tho.

Was all set to buy the Canon but saw a 10mp Pentax for 50 quid cheaper and as I have a Pentax myself and always found it good I went for that one instead. Thanks for all the advice though
