3 don't do top ups online, go down to the shop and buy it for him then call out the code over the phone, he can still top up over there by calling 333.

but afaik 333 isn't free so he won't be able to call it if he's out of credit.

in fact i think i remember telling you that it was free before and you said you tried it and got charged

to top up your brother, get a three top up, then call 0833 333 333 from a non-3 phone and listen for the option to top up a phone.

it'll say "if you're calling to top up, please hang up and redial 444 from your 3 mobile". ignore that

do 3 actually charge you for ringing the top-up number?

No 3 do not charge for calling 333, and when im Ireland the top up number is 444, 333 is for customer care.

afaik he is on t-mobile network over there,so sending him the top up info wont work, what i will do is call into the 3 store in town tomorrow and i am sure they will be able to apply the credit from there terminal.

    Thanks for the help folks.

If you are on 3 you can top it up. Turn off your caller id and dial 444, it will ask you to enter the number you want to top up, if you have a 3 bill phone on need to turn off your id, or go into a 3 store and ask them to call customer care when you are in store. That way you wont get charged for calling if your not on 3.
